      Abstract
This research was aimed to answer the question about “how does Qatar counter against Saudi Arabia’s dominance in the Middle East Region?” with the highlight during the 2017 Qatar-Saudi diplomatic crisis. To answer that question, this research utilize the alliance concept and balance of power theory. This research argues that Qatar is trying to balance Saudi domination by way of allied with Iran and Turkey after the diplomatic ties were cutted. Then, through balance of power perspective, Qatar strenghtens their economics and established new alliance in order to counter Saudi Arabia’s domination in the Middle East.
