This papper aims to describe how the Mekong River Commission's strategy is to enhance cooperation with China. There are various problems that exist on the Mekong River, one of which is the construction of hydroelectric power plants. The Mekong River Commission as an international government organization has developed the Mekong River region which has economic value. This research uses the concept of international organizations and international regimes. In the concept of international organizations it was explained that as the Mekong River Commission, international organizations functioned in exercising their authority to make the Mekong River region of economic value. While the concept of the international regime explained that the Mekong River Commission had an interest in China to protect the Mekong River and increase cooperation with China as the upstream country of the Mekong River.
