      Abstract
Pain is something unpleasant caused by tissue damage. Pain can be uncomfortable and change someone’s behavior. Someone who had pain will be disturbed in their activities. One of effective ways to cure pain is by using a TENS therapy device. Therefore in this study, TENS therapy device was designed. The TENS therapy device was designed using Integrated Circuit of ATMega328P Microcontroller, LCD as a display, and PWM as a wave generator. The device uses a voltage source from the battery. This TENS was completed with frequency settings (35 Hz - 180 Hz), voltage intensity (0 Volt - 28.49 Volt). There were several times setting for therapy which is 15 minutes, 20 minutes, and 30 minutes, also therapeutic modes were burst and continuous. Data retrieval system was done by measuring TENS with a measuring instrument. On the frequency measurement of the TENS, the biggest correction value was 0.103 at a frequency of 70 Hz, then at the timer setting measurement of 15 minutes, 20 minutes and 30 minutes, the biggest correction was 6 seconds on the 30 minute timer setting option. While the maximum voltage measurement was obtained at an average of 28.49 Volt. There were differences in burst and continuous modes, the wave in continuous mode generated continuously wave and frequency use were 35 Hz – 180 Hz, and in burst mode the wave has a pause for one second with frequency use was 180 Hz. From the results of data retrieval, it was concluded that each frequency measurement results and timer has a correction, but it is close to the settings. The intensity of the highest voltage is still safe to use, the capacity can be used for approximately 6 hours of therapy.
