      Abstract
Political contestation at the local level is a battle arena involving local elites which is actually a battle of capital. The more influential capital owned by an elite or a group of elites, the greater the chance of gaining victory. West Sulawesi, especially in Polman Regency is also one of the local elite fighting areas, one of which is the Masdar Clan. The Masdar clan is able to cultivate its socio-political capital so that it can win in the West Sulawesi governor election in 2017. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to find out how the role of socio-political capital in political marketing strategies, using capital theory and political marketing. The method used in this study is qualitative, using data collection techniques, namely interviews and documentation. As for the targets of this study were candidates from the Masdar Clan, the supporting party / supporters of the Masdar Clan and the political volunteer team. The results of this study indicate that the socio-political capital of the Masdar Clan plays an effective role in the political marketing activities undertaken. Social capital consists of bureaucratic networks, public trust and characterization carried out in political marketing activities in the Pass Marketing strategy. While political capital consists of political party / coalition support, representative pairs, political experience and successful team support carried out in Push Marketing and Pull Marketing activities. If seen as a whole, social-political capital is the capital that influences the victory of the Masdar clan in West Sulawesi's governor election in 2017, but if we look deeply, social capital in the form of personhood is the most influential capital because it can influence other capital. The suggestion of this research is that with the victory of ABM in West Sulawesi Pilgub it is hoped that it can continue to build, establish and maintain good and sustainable relations, and can also maintain relations with political parties in the interests of development and can maintain the trust given by the community
