      Abstract
Background: Through policies implemented by the Indonesian government and collaboration with various parties, it is hoped that Indonesian coffee will become one of the natural products that can be developed to support welfare. One step is to introduce, invite, and participate in large events to introduce Indonesian coffee. The development of the coffee industry in Indonesia today not only supports upstream but has moved downstream (packaging, baristas, and e-commerce) which will produce more value (added value). Objective: This study aims to discuss diplomacy strategies applied by Indonesia towards strengthening coffee exports in the United States and what factors support the diplomacy strategy. Method: Method of implementing data is done directly and indirectly. Directly collecting data from interview observations of people who have capacity in their fields. Christopher Lamont considers as a general interview divided into three different characteristics and categories, namely: (i) structured interview (structured interview), (II) semi-structured interview (semistructured interview), (III) unstructured interview (unstructured interview). In this study, researchers used a method of collecting data and semi-structured interviews (semi-structured interviews). Conclusion: From this study it can be concluded that the diplomacy strategy undertaken by Indonesia will open more opportunities for foreign exchange earners, as well as introduce the characteristics of coffee owned by Indonesia.
