STUDI FENOMENOLOGI: KEBUTUHAN PSIKOSOSIAL KELUARGA PASIEN INTENSIVE CARE UNIT (ICU) DI RS PKU MUHAMMADIYAH YOGYAKARTA
Abstract
Background: Intensive care unit (ICU) is part of the treatment room
that is associated with patients who experience intensive problems.
The ICU patient's family will experience some unexpected changes
such as psychological changes. The important role of nurses as part
of the critical care team is to identify and meet family needs during
difficult times. In practice, most nurses in providing care only
focus on patients, so that family needs can’t be identified.
Objective: To determine the family psychosocial needs of ICU
patients at PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta Hospital.
Method: The research design used in this study is use a qualitative
method with a phenomenological approach. The method of
collecting data by observation and in-depth interviews.
Results: The results of this study are descriptions and
interpretations of the data obtained by researchers through the
process of data analysis that has been done to 5 participants. The
results were obtained in 3 themes, receiving information, support
systems and comfort.
Conclusion: Based on the results of the study, there were 3 themes
of findings related to the psychosocial needs of ICU patients'
families at PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta Hospital, receiving
information, support systems and comfort. Researchers hope
nurses can improve communication and family involvement in the
care process.
