PENGGUNAAN EKSTRAK KARSEN ( MUNTINGIA CALABURA L ) SEBAGAI SUBSTITUSI MEDIUM PADA SUBKULTUR ANGGREK DENDROBIUM SP SECARA IN VITRO

the efect of Karsen (Muntingia calobura L.) act,acls os an alternative medium
lor subcrlturing Dendrobium sp.
The research used laboratory experiments method, i.e. single-factor treatments designs
wilh 8 lreatments which arranged in completely rqalsuized design (CRD). Each
lreatments was replicated 3 times, each 5 samples for each replication- Total sampels
were 120 unils. The eight types ofmedium were used, i.e. VlV medium + BAP 2 ng/L
+ NAA I mg/L (1" contrul), leaffertilizer medium 3 g/L * coconul water 150 ml/L +
banona edracl 150 g/L + sugar 30 g/I- (2tu control), Karsen exlract 50 g/L * sugar
30 g/L, Karsen extract 100 g/L + sugor 30 g/L, Karsen etract 150 g/L + sugar i0
g/L, Korsen extroct 50 g/L + sugar I 5 g/L, Karsen.edract 100 g/L + sugar I 5 g/L and
Karsen 150 g/L + sugar 15 g/L. Observations were canied outfor I weeks ond the
variobels observed were plant height, rutmber of leates and mrmber ofshoots.
Korsen extract can be used as a substitlie medium for subculluring Dettdrobium sp.
Karsen ertract concentrotion 50 g/L with the oddilion of sugar 1 5 g/L was concluded
as the besl strbcultwe mediumfor Dendrobium os shown by variabels the difference of
plant height i.e. 0,65 cm and the number of leaves i.e. 2,44 shoots.
