dc.description.abstract | There are some land-border areas between Indonesia and neighboring countries. The problem in developing Indonesian communities in the border areas is because of Indonesia is a large country, very populous in number, and sharing many borders with the neighboring countries. The problem is not only happening within the border of our country, but also happening in the countries outside our borders. The situation in Tawau, (State of Sabah, Malaysia) can be an example. There are more than 12.000 of Indonesian children, mostly the children of Indonesian plantation workers, who have no access to proper education. It challenges us to do a community service program. It’s our responsibility to empower the people there since the government has
limited ability to overcome it. | en_US |
