      Abstract
      Background: HAI’s is an infection experienced by the patient during medical treatment in health care facility. Surgical site infection (SSI) is a part of HAI’s which has negative impact towards patient, hospital and country. Research Purpose: To gain the information and description of SSI incident towards post section caesarea patient (SC) in RSU Queen Latifa 2016. Research Method: This is a qualitative research with study case approach. The subject of this research is IPC team, OR nurse, room nurse, polyclinic nurse and patient. The object of the research is SSI towards post SC patient in RSU Queen Latifa. Interview’s guideline is the instrument for this research. The data analysis uses constant comparative method. Research Result: The final meaning in this research is the intrinsic factor patients basic diseases (anemia and hypoalbumin), patient’s comorbidities factor (asthma and seafood allergies) and general patient condition factor (personal hygiene), extrinsic factor (the health professional sanitation hygiene and the availability of surgical instrument sterilizer product that is not optimal), and also the IPC program that has not optimal. Conclusion: RSU Queen Latifa has to do the planning and implement the strategy in order to reach the maximal standard of IPC program such as adding the third party network in the cooperation of checking the number of germs at the hospital, the building’s design and construction are suitable with IPC standard, effectively, and efficient, training program for increasing the knowledge of the all the staff members at the hospital, scheduling the visiting hour and the age limit of the visitors.
