      Abstract
Background: Fixed denture is a denture that replaces one or more natural teeth that are lost and permanently attached by using cement to the prepared tooth. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence of gingivitis in users of porcelain fused to metal partial dentures in the dental hospitals of Universitas Muhammadiyah of Yogyakarta. Method: This study used a descriptive observational method, with a cross sectional study design. The number of subjects used in this study were as many as 22 respondents. Data collection techniques in this study were examined directly by looking at the respondents' gingival index. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive tests to determine the frequency distribution. Results: The results obtained on 22 respondents of metal porcelain fixed denture users who were installed by a young dentist at RSGM UMY found that 2 respondents were not found gingivitis, 16 respondents had mild gingivitis, and 4 respondents had moderate gingivitis, and no respondents had severe gingivitis. Conclusion: The conclusion of this study shows that the highest prevalence of gingivitis in metal porcelain fix denture users is in the mild category of 17 people.
