      Abstract
Solar Water Heater (SWH) is a technology that can be used as a water heater by harnessing the sun’s energy. SWH used water as a storage device normally. Water use has a shortage of them low energy density, requiring substantial volume. In the other side of phase change material (PCM) has a high energy density. SWH studies have been done a lot, but there’s not much to talk the kalor release rate and the rate of temperature decrease in water and PCM in the SWH tanks. The aim of this study was to find out the release rate of the kalor and the continuous drop in the SWH tank with the discharge variations administered using the paralytic continuous method. Discharging research of continuous is done by discharging water into tanks periodically at variety discharge 1; 1,5; 2; 2,5 from 70C in tank to 35C in a bathtub. The data taken during the study is thermal data of each thermocopel point attached to a copper pipe with readings of the direction of flow on each view is axial, vertical, and horizontal. Further recorded data will be applied to a proposed temperature evolution chart on viewer, the rate of release of water, the rate of drop in water temperature, the rate of release of the PCM, the rate of drop of the PCM. Research has learned that the lowest release rate of water would be by 1 LPM. Release rate 668,74 J/s and the rate of release PCM 53,93 J/s, as the largest rate of release is by a charge of 2,5 LPM. Value of release rate 1357,92 J/s and the rate of release of PCM 104,33 J/s. The lowest rate of water temperature drops is by discharge 1 LPM. Rate of drop in water temperature 13,75 C/hour and the rate of lower PCM temperature 13,9 C/hour, including the biggest rate of temperature drop by about 2,5 LPM discharges. Rate of water drops 27,11 C/hour and rate of PCM drop 27,42 C/hour.
