      Abstract
      Polysemy (tagigo) is a word that has more than one meaning. There are several types of verbs in Japanese. One of them is the verb ukeru. This research was conducted to describe the meaning and function contained in verbs ukeru in the book Minna no Nihongo. The Method of this research is a qualitative descriptive method. Subject of this research is sentences containing ukeru verbs in the book Minna no Nihongo. Then, in collecting data the researchers used the listening method and the note taking technique. The results of this research is there are 19 sentences containing ukeru verbs in the book Minna no Nihongo. Then there are six ukeru verb meanings which are found out of nine meanings based on Kihon Doushi Youhou Jiten, which are receiving, listening, famous, grace, following, and being exposed
