      Abstract
      Background: Gout is one of the non-communicable diseases that attack arthritis, this is caused by foods that have high levels of purine. Uric acid can also be called an inflammatory disease characterized by the accumulation of monosodium crystals in joints. Research Objective: To find out the risk factors that cause gout in Kalirandu Kasihan Hamlet, Bantul, Yogyakarta. Research Methods: quantitative non-experiment with descriptive survey type design using a cross-sectional approach. The subjects of this study were 88 elderly people in the hamlet of Kalirandu. The analysis technique used is univariat Results: The results of this study showed 88 respondents who participated in this study, sub variable nutrition 64 (72.7%) were at risk of developing gout, followed by physical activity (exercise) (46.6%), alcohol consumption (13 , 6%), Obesity (10.2%). Conclusion: Nutrition and physical activity (exercise) are highest risk factors for gout in Kalirandu Hamlet
