      Abstract
      Background: Caries Risk Assessment is a assessment of the caries occurrence in a individual. A deaf children has a high caries risk due to their limitation in listening, therefore the information regarding dental and oral health cannot be received properly. Objective: To find out the results of caries risk assessment in deaf children aged 6-12 years in SLB Negeri 1 Bantul Yogyakarta. Method: Descriptive observational method with a cross sectional study design. The methods of sampling used in this study was total sampling and 26 children were eligible. Data collection techniques in this study were examined by the oral examination were did then follow by the measurement of the salivary flow rate, and filling the caries risk assessment questionnaire American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD). Oral examination were did then followed by filling the caries risk assessment questionnaire AAPD. The data that obtained were analyzed using descriptive analysis test to determine the frequency distribution. Results: The results obtained from deaf children aged 6-12 years in SLB Negeri 1 Bantul Yogyakarta there are 2 children with low caries risk, 1 children with moderate caries risk, and then 23 children with high caries risk. Conclusion: The study show that most deaf children aged 6-12 years in SLB Negeri 1 Bantul Yogyakarta have high caries risk levels and the most risky are 11 year olds.
