      Abstract
Background : Enamel is a hard tissue of the human body. Enamel contains 96% inorganic ingredients and 4% water, organic matter and fibrous tissue. Enamel’s inorganic materials are several million of hydroxy apatite (𝐶𝑎10(𝑃𝑂4)6(𝑂𝐻)2) crystals. It also has some 4% carbonate, 0,6% sodium, 1,2% magnesium, 0,2% cholirde, and 0,01% fluoride. Calsium is a major component of teeth. Demineralization of enamel occurs due to the release of calcium ions from enamel. Presence of materials that containing calcium and phophorus is expected to occure remineralize on teeth. This calcium material can be obtained from the use of waste, for example waste of chicken egg shells. This study aims to determine the effect of chicken eggshell paste application on microscopic images of enamel surface as remineralization material. Method : In this experimental laboratory study, 5 samples of premolar teeth that randomly picked are used. Samples have been selected based on predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. This five premolar teeth were treated the same way, which was applied to the chicken eggshell paste for 6 weeks. Microscopic images of enamel surface were seen using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). Data was obtained by comparing the microscopic images of the enamel surface before and after the application of chicken eggshell paste. Result : Microscopic images of enamel surface after etching application is rough and shaped like key hole, this shows that etching affect is enamel demineralization process. Microscopic images of enamel surface after chicken eggshell paste application for 6 weeks were smooth and has no pores, this shows that eggshell paste has a significant effect on the remineralization process of enamel surface. Conclussion : The chicken eggshell paste application for 6 weeks showed significant results in remineralizing the enamel surface that had been porous
