The aims of orthodontic treatment is to improve the arrangement of teeth, improve facial appearance and improve speech function. Orthodontic treatment is related to changes in facial shape, so the orthodontic treatments are related to problems in Islamic law. The purpose of this study is to describe the knowledge of orthodontic treatment according to Islam in the students of the Faculty of Islamic Studies, Muhammadiyah University, Yogyakarta. The method of this study is a non-experimental study with a cross sectional design. This research was conducted in March 2019 at the Faculty of Islamic Studies, Muhammadiyah University, Yogyakarta. Sampling using Probability Sampling technique with simple random sampling method and obtained as many as 100 respondents. The results of the study showed that the number of respondents was more in the 2017 class, and based on the overall data showed that the students of the Faculty of Islamic Studies University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta had good knowledge. The results of the questionnaire were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis, namely frequency distribution.
