Psychological problems caused by PLWHA overcoming difficulties, depression, guilt and the desire to end life that lead to ODHA have low self-esteem, social changes such as withdrawing from social life, changing roles, changing lifestyles and social alienation. Objective: to find out the feelings of people with HIV / AIDS (PLWHA) about diseases experienced in Yogyakarta. Method: This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Respondents in the study are 7 people. Data collected with in-depth interviews use instruments in the form of interview guides containing open questions. The analysis of the data in the study uses Cresswell's 13 steps system. Results: People with HIV / AIDS have a number of things to fear or worry about. The apprehensiveness experienced by PLWHA can cause certain responses. In addition, self-acceptance of PLWHA more or less affects the self-esteem of PLWHA. PLWHA who have high self-esteem can meet their own needs compared to ones who have low self-esteem. Someone who has low self-esteem tends to experience feelings as being unloved, psychological disorders such as stress and depression and the emergence of certain anxiety and worry. Conclusion: the feelings of PLWHA about their disease are apprehensiveness, responses of afraidness, bad acceptance, and less self-esteem.
