TREATMENT OF PAPILLA INTERDENTAL LOSS (BLACK TRIANGLE) AFTER ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT USING BONE GRAFT
Abstract
Background: Orthodontic treatment is one of the treatments in the field of dentistry that aims, to
improve crowding teeth. Patients with crowding, especially in the front teeth, often experiencing loss
of interdental papillae (black triangle) after the teeth are arranged in a good arch. This condition has a
negative impact on aesthetics when smiling and affects the health of periodontal tissues due to chronic
retention of leftovers which will continue to tartar, gingival inflammation and abnormal gingival
morphology. Various treatment strategies to overcome black triangle cases have been carried out. The
surgical approach includes various flap designs and graft techniques to add bone or soft tissue.
