      Effect of Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique Therapy on Depression Test Score in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes in Yogyakarta Indonesia

      Mean pretest and posttest depression test scores in the control group were 25.1 and 24.6 respectively, while in intervention group were 24.9 and 16.7 respectively. Wilcoxon test analysis of depression scores before and after SEFT therapy in the intervention group showed p=0.03 (p<0.05), while pretest and posttest depression scores in the control group showed p=0.343 (p>0.05). Independent sample t-test analysis measuring depression score changes between both groups showed p=0.03 (p<0.05). <br> (47.5Kb)

      Abstract
      Diabetes is a global public health problem which can cause serious disabling complications. Depression and diabetes frequently occur comorbidly. Diabetes mellitus can worsen with depression. Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (Spiritual-EFT or SEFT) therapy is a kind of mindfulness-based therapy useful for managing depression. This pilot study aimed at evaluating the effect of Spiritual-EFT (SEFT) therapy on depression test score in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D). <br>
