The Impact of the Imposition of Zakat Profession Against Behavioral Academics
Abstract
This study aims to determine the knowledge and understanding towards academics staff about zakat and to know the impact of professional zakat on the behavioral lecturers of Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta. The objects of this study were lecturers at the economics and business faculties. This research was designed using qualitative descriptions while the variables studied were the impact of the mandatory zakat on the academic community in UMY. The data collection of this study through questionnaires, interviews and documentation. The research instrument is a list of questions that reveal the variables and rubric of self-reflection. The data validity uses content validity and data triangulation, while the technical data analysis is quantitative through percentage analysis. The results found were that the obligations of professional zakat bring positive and negative effects on the lecturers of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta University, especially in the Faculty of Economics and Business. However, the negative impact obtained is greater than the positive impact.
