      Abstract
      This research was conducted based on the interesting program of Didikan Subuh (religious education at dawn) held by PantiAsuhan (orphanage) Muhammadiyah, Pekanbaru City. PantiAsuhan Muhammadiyah Pekanbaru is located in the center of the bustling city of Pekanbaru. This position is theoretically not conducive for the development of worship independence for the children in the orphanage. However, with good management and commitment, typical business environment does not have significantly negative effect on the effort in building the children’s worship independence. Based on the background, this research was carried out in order to find out the management of Didikan Subuh program in building the worship character as well as the worship character development on the children in PantiAsuhan Muhammadiyah Pekanbaru. The location of the research was in Panti Asuhan Muhammadiyah Pekanbaru. The source of informant in this research were 9 (nine) people, involving 4 (four) orphanage caretakers and 5 (five) orphanage children. This research used qualitative method emphasizing on the natural objectivity of the data. The data collection technique was through interview, observation and documentation. The conclusion drawn from this research is: (1) the management of DidikanSubuh program in building the children’s worship character in PantiAsuhanMuhammadiyahPekanbaru is significantly influenced by several aspects, either internal management, surrounding environment, or management commitment; (2) the worship character of the students in Panti Asuhan Muhammadiyah PDM Pekanbaru is developed through several stages. The first stage is discipline conditioning, the second is habitual formation, and the third is self-awareness development.
