      Abstract
The Qur’an is glorious words of God. Every person who acknowledges himself to Allah Ta’ala and His Messenger has an obligation to study and practice the contents of the Qur’an. Learning the Qur’an starting from reading it must be done from an early age. In fact, there are many children who have not been able to read the Qur’an. There are various factors causing children to have not been able to read the Qur’an. One of the main factors is the lack of the roles of parents in educating children. Therefore, this study discusses the roles of parents in improving children’s ability to read the Qur’an. This research is a mixed-research, namely literature study, and interview. The study was conducted at two TPA (Qur’an Education Park) locations, which are TPA Nurul Huda and TPA Masjid An-Nur, Modalan, Banguntapan, Bantul. The results of this study show that the role of students’ parents at TPA Nurul Huda and TPA An-Nur in improving children’s ability to read the Qur’an are, firstly, teaching the Qur’an at an early age; secondly, enrolling their children to the TPA; thirdly, teaching the Qur’an at home; fourth, providing full encouragement and full support to children; fifth, giving trust to the teacher, sixth, improving religious knowledge; and seventh, looking for an excellent place to live.
