      Abstract
Road safety audit is systematic process for traffic accident prevention with improvement of geometric conditions, road equipment and road infrastructure that has potential to cause accidents. This is important, considering the traffic accidents are fairly high cause of death in Indonesia. Palbapang - Samas road along 12,65 km is an collector road that has a high density level of traffic. There have been 83 accidents in this road (2017). This study aims to identify potential accidents and provide the recommendation to improve the road safety in the Palbapang - Samas road. This research begins with literature study, then collected the secondary data ( traffic accidents data) and primary data (Road Safety Audit checklist) which were used as audit and analysis. The results of road safety audit shows that some of road conditions, road equipments and road infrastructure require an improvement. The unavilability of speed warning signs, road marking that is not clearly, limited street lighting, lanes for bycycles or other motorized vehicles which is not available are considered as indicators of the cause of accidents. From this results, the recommendation that can be given to improve the safety of road users is to install warning signs the limit of speed and gudance signs, to install street lighting at locations that is not available and repaint markers that is not visible.
