      Abstract
      Background: The implementation of job rotation of the head of the nurse room is one of the strategies to reduce conflicts in the nursing team in a hospital. The job rotation of the head of the nurse room can cause an impact in the provision of nursing services. This research aims to determine the effect of the head of the nurse room on job satisfaction and nurse performance. Method: This study uses a correlation process with a cross sectional approach involving 109 nurses. The selesction of respondents was carried out using a purposive sampling technique based on certain criteria. Analysis of data using path analysis to obtain spesific results. Results and discussion: Based on the result of the research, it showed significance values of 0.003 indicating that the rotation of the head of the nurse room has a positive effect on the nurse job satisfaction. It showed significance values of 0.009 for the head of the nurse room rotation and 0.012 for nurse job satisfaction meaning that the rotation and nurse job satisfaction had a significant positive effect on nurse performance. The value of the Z Sobel Test reached 1.965 (> 1.960) indicating that if the rotation is in accordance with the wishes of the nurse and it will improve job satisfaction and performance. Conclusion: The nurse job satisfaction could mediate the effect of the rotation of the head of the nurse room on nurse performance.
