Psychoeducation is an education or training for a person with psychiatric disorder that is part of the process of therapy and rehabilitation. Bipolar disorder psychoeducation provide supplies for patients and their families in the form of theoretical and practical approaches to understanding Bipolar Disorder, recognizing early symptoms of relapse, and develop effective strategies to cope with these symptoms
The family as the primary caregiver has an important role in the treatment of bipolar patients. While the family also has a large burden in caring for patients. Families often lack of suport, sufficient knowledge and skills in the handling of patients. Family psychoeducation will meet those needs so the family could properly care for patients and provide better outcomes, improve prognosis, improving the quality of life of patients and reduce the burden of family subjectively.
