dc.description.abstract | DM management can be performed with optimal self-care, one of them through healthy coping. Shalat can help achieved healthy coping with promoted relaxation and reduce anxiety so the impact on glycemic control. The aim of this study was to test the effect of shalat on the level of anxiety and blood glucose levels. The design of this study was quasi experimental design with pre-post test without control group design. Twelve persons were participated in this protocol study through consecutive sampling. Respondents were given the intervention of shalat five times for five days and then measured levels of anxiety and blood glucose levels. The data was analyzed by using Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test, Friedman Test, and Mann Whitney. The result of this study showed that shalat decreased the level of anxiety (p = 0.003, mean rank= 6,00-0,00) and the blood glucose level (p = 0.002, mean rank= 6,50- 0,00). The patient’s age, diet, and insulin dose were also influence the patient’s level of anxiety and blood glucose. The Conclusion, shalat can decrease the level of anxiety and blood glucose in patient with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Nurses are sugested to fasilitate the patient to shalat five times a day and concern to patient’ s age, diet, and insulin dose. Further research can be modified the method by using mixed methods. | en_US |
