Water is a source of energy that living creatures are always in use. Source water comes from rivers, land
surface, springs and estuaries. Source water from the tap with river irrigation channels and pumps. Sanga pumps
require the use of fossil energy. While the availability of fossil energy has been very limited. Sling Pump field
application is one alternative tool replacement pump. This tool works utilize streams of energy. In Indonesia sling
pump research conducted only limited testing laboratory scale in 2009 and 2010 with an inlet. In this study further
emphasize the variation in inlet plastic hose with a size 1 inch. This research was conducted to obtain the maximum
discharge and obtain optimal performance. This research uses experimental methods include the preparation phase
and stage of data collection. Preparation stage is to prepare the tools for research. As done in this stage is the
installation of equipment components such as wrapping the hose with a variation of the inlet, to measure water flow,
delivery and laying pipes to prepare measuring instrument and a form of research data. The second stage of data
capture, component tools to be considered in data collection variables are: pressure gauge, water discharge, river
flow velocity, round sling pump, water temperature, and stop watch. In collecting data for each variation of the inlet
is 10 times the experiment. In making every variation of the inlet, the pressure on the pressure gauge and pump
round slings constant at 21 rpm became the focus of attention. Results of calculation and analysis of the data showed
the highest discharge is variation 2 inlet is 13.221 liters / minute or 0.220 liters / sec. Highest pump efficiency sling
found on three variations of the inlet 14.6%. The highest hydraulic efficiency at the inlet of the second variation of
91.6%
