      Abstract
      The research entitled “The Application of Oil Palm Shells Briquettes on Red Chili Cultivation (Capsicum annum L.) in Coastal Sandy Land, Samas Beach, Bantul, Yogyakarta” was conducted at farm of University Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta from February 2016 up to Mei 2016. This study aimed to examine the influence of briquettes oil palm shells fertilizer on growth and yield of red chili. The research was conducted using experimental method, and arranged in completely randomized design (CRD) with treatments of P0 : Kontrol (600 gram of briquettes dung fertilizer) of 20 tons/hectare, P1 : (300 gram of briquetts palm shells) of 10 tons/hectare , P2 : (450 gram of briquettes palm shells) of 15 tons/hectare, P3 : (600 gram of briquettes palm shells) of 20 tons/hectare, P4 : (750 gram of briquettes palm shells) of 25 tons/hectare, P5 : (900 gram of briquettes palm shells) of 30 tons/hectare. Each treatment was replicated 3 times and each experimental units consisting of theree plant samples. The result showed that the application of oil palm shell briquettes effect on plant growth processes red chili. Treatment P1 is the most efficient treatment to be applied and the results of 1.25 tons red chili per hectare.
