PENINGKATAN KINERJA KARYAWAN DARI SUDUT PANDANG TEORI MOTIVASI MASLOW DI LEMBAGA KEUANGAN SYARIAH YOGYAKARTA (BMT Bangun Rakyat Sejahtera dan BMT Barokah Padi Melati)
Abstract
This research aims to find out the motivation and performance of employees at BMT Bangun Rakyat Sejahtera and BMT Barokah Padi Melati using the point of view of Maslow’s Theory of Need of Hierarchy , using indicators of physiological need, security need, social need, appreciation need and self-actualization need. This research is significant because of the decrease income in 2015 at BMT Bangun Rakyat Sejahtera and BMT Barokah Padi Melati, so it is necessary to conduct a research on the performance and motivation of the employees so that their performance will be better. This research is qualitative, and the data were collected through questionnaire and interview.The respondents consist of 15 employees and 1 manager of BMT Bangun Rakyat Sejahtera, and 6 employees and 1 manager of BMT Barokah Padi. The findings were then described and concluded. They show that the employees’ motivation at BMT Bangun Rakyat Sejahtera mostly or 33 % refers to self-actualization, 27% of physiological need, 27% social need, 13% of security need, but appreciation is not their motivation. Meanwhile, at BMT Barokah Padi Melati, the employees’ motivation consists of 67% of social need, and 33% of self-actualization need. Physiological need, security need, and appreciation need are not their motivation.
