The purposes of the research are to understand the leading sector in Magetan Regency. The analysis was done by comparing PDRB Atas Dasar Harga Konstan 2010 and PDRB Atas Dasar Harga Konstan In the East Java Province on 2010. The model of analysis that been used is the Shift-Share Analysis, Location Quotient Analysis, Klassen Typology and SWOT analysis. According to the SWOT analysis result, the policy strategy of the leading sector that should be taken is to improve regional economy through a basic potential sector, to develop and improving the public quality of education and health, improving the public infrastructure and regional competitiveness.
