      Abstract
Hypertension or high blood pressure was very influential for the onset of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease as well as a major cause of morbidity. Level of malignancy that was owned by hypertension could cause permanent disability and sudden death. Treatment of hypertension also took a long and costly so that a male patient who was the bread winner of the family would be burden on the economy. The use of medicinal plants needed to lower blood pressure was a right alternative option, both in terms of economic or benefits, such as the using of noni fruit (Morinda citrifolia). The content of scopoletin in noni fruit caused vasodilatation resulting in a decrease in blood pressure. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of differences in beverage consumption of noni (Morinda citrifolia) on male hypertensive patients aged 40-59 years with over 60 years of age. Quasy experimental designed with pre-post treatment (pretest- posttest) was the method. Sampling was done by using purposive sampling. Sixteen patients with hypertension aged 40-59 years and sixteen hypertensive patients aged above 60 years of were consuming noni for 30 days and were measured before and after consuming the drink. Blood pressure was measured using a sphygmomanometer. Analysis of the data used to test the hypothesis was the Wilcoxon test. The result showed that the research subjects 40-59 years age group was obtained p = 0.001 (p < 0.005) and the age group above 60 years was obtained p = 0.004 (p < 0.005) after consuming the drinks of noni (Morinda citrifolia). There was a significant decrease in blood pressure in the research subjects 40-59 years age group and the age group above 60 years who consumed the drinks of noni (Morinda citrifolia).
