      Abstract
      Presbycusis or age-related hearing loss is a common cause of hearing loss in elderly worldwide. Presbycusis usually happens slowly over many years. It often occurs in both ears at the same time. In some cases, people are not aware of the change right away. The risk factors of presbycusis such as age, gender, hypertension, and stage hypertension. Hypertension can cause presbycusis because it can cause stress to the endothelium which will cause damage to the blood vessels, which ultimately causes damage to the organ of hearing. Objective : To prove that age, gender, hypertension and stage hypertension is a risk factors of presbycusis at RS PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. Method : This research is a analytical observational study with case control design. The study was conducted at PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital in Yogyakarta during the month of june 2015 to october 2015. It was found 40 subjects who meet the criteria for inclusion and exclusion. The data used audiometric results. This data is analyzed using SPSS. Result : From the results of research conducted at PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital in Yogyakarta, a group of risk factors of age have a significant relationship to the occurrence presbiakusis, group of risk factors of hypertension has a significant relationship to the occurrence presbiakusis, group of risk factors of the degree of hypertension has a significant relationship to the occurrence presbiakusis, and the group of risk factor of gender has no significant relationship to the occurrence presbiakusis. Conclusion : Age, hypertension, and stage hypertension were the risk factors of presbycusis but Gender were not the risk factors of presycusis
