Self medication or also called swamedikasi is an effort made by most of people to reduce health problem like fever, cough, influenza, pain, diarhea and gastritic before seek help from health professionals. The purpose of this research is to determine the level of knowledge of people in Wonorejo RW 08 in swamedikasi fever on a child. This study used descriptive analitic and data was colected using questionnaires and interview to 97 respondents. The questionnaire covering about the knowledge of swamedikasi fever and the result is right or wrong. The level of knowledge was classified by good, quite, or less. Data analysis conducted to describe the knowledge of the respondents and to know the correlation between sosiodemografi and the knowledge of the respondents. The results of research suggests that the level knowledge of respondents in Wonorejo RW 08 about swamedikasi fever is big enought ( 73,3%) and there are correlation between the level knowledge to the last education ( p-value 0,000) and income level (p-value 0,008), where as for the distance between the residence with a shop or pharmacy unrelated (p-value 0,536). The factors that pushed swamedikasi fever are advice from a doctor, advice from friends and based on their experience.
