      Abstract
      The study in Jalan Lain ke Tulehu novel by Zen Rs used narrative analysis method because novel is part of mass communication which has the capacity to deliver a message. The novel will be analyze by narrative elements in novel, five phases of narrative structure from Tzvetan Todorov, and Algirdas Greimas narrative research method to determine the position, function, and relation of each characters. In this study, researcher discovered that the dark-side of multiculturalism, the stereotype and the prejudice have a role as an obstacle during multiculturalism process. Both stereotype and prejudice can be the trigger of multiculturalism. In fact, most conflict happened because of incidents in the past, as an example is generalizing group of people with a single assessment. In spite of the most content is all about conflict, the novel had a good and better way of solvingthe problems. One of them is playing football, considering the fanaticism Ambonese toward football
