Nurse appearance is one of the main things that is consider by patients. Nurse that have a good appearance can gave a positive impression on patients. Appearance is a non-verbal comunication that can be seen visually and that’s very important in projecting a professional image, therefore a nurse must good looking in according with the professional nurse appearance standard. Patient satisfaction is became a benchmark in quality improvement of quality service. Quality services has several indicators, one of them is the appearance. The aimed of this study to knew the correlation between nurse appearance with patient satisfaction in PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta Hospital. Research Method: used a cross sectional study design. The sample technique in this study with accidental sampling with total sample of 72 respondents. Reseach instrument used questionnaire which consisted of three parts, that is respondents characteristics, nurse appearance and patients satisfaction. Data analysis used Spearman correlation test. Results: The results showed that the correlation between the nurse appearance with patient satisfaction with the statistic tests is p value= 0.00 (0.00 <0.05). Nurse apperance at RS PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta is good as many as 62,5%. Patients at RS PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta said that they are satisfied as many as 46,9%. Correlation test showed that there are a strong relation between nurse appearance with patient satisfaction. Conclusion: there are a correlation between the nurse appearance with patient satisfaction in PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital in Yogyakarta, where the better nurse appearance then patient will more satisfied. Suggestion: nurse can maintained their appearance both of phsical and non-verbal when treat patient.
