HUBUNGAN TINGKAT SPIRITUALITAS DENGAN TINGKAT KECEMASAN DAN MEKANISME KOPING MAHASISWA TINGKAT PERTAMA FKIK UMY 2015/2016
Abstract
Spirituality is a core part of the individual (core of individuals) that
give meaning, purpose in life and connectedness. Man is a holistic creature
consist of physical dimension, social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual being
one unified whole, where if one of the dimensions is interrupted it will affect other
dimensions. In this concept student spirituality plays an important role in the
process of adaptation of the first year students, where students begin to enter into
the new environment on campus that can cause anxiety. Student spirituality will
affect the mechanisms of coping committed by students to overcome the anxiety
experienced by the students in the campus.
Purpose: To find out correlation of spirituality level with anxiety level and coping
Mechanism in the first year students of FKIK UMY.
Method: Cross-sectional with Spearman correlation test for the correlation of
spirituality level with the level of anxiety. Kolmogorov-Smirnov test for
correlation anxiety level with Coping mechanisms. With the number of samples
224 students with proportional random sampling proportioned with the number of
students in each major.
Result: Result of Correlation with spearman test for the relationship of the level
of spirituality with the anxiety level result in p = 0.839 (p > 0.05) and
Kolmogorov-Smirnov test for correlation of spirituality level with the coping
mechanism result in p = 0,636 (p > 0.05).
Conclusion: There is no correlation between spirituality level with anxiety level
and coping Mechanism in the first year students of FKIK UMY.
