      Abstract
      Kulon Progo regency has increased cases of hypertension in last 3 years. Housewife is susceptible to stress that is factor that causes hypertension. One of way to lower blood pressure is stress management. Objective: This study aims to know the correlation stress management behavior toward blood pressure of housewife that suffers hypertension in Salamrejo. Methods: This study is non-experimental study with cross sectional design. Samples in this study were 51 housewives that suffer hypertension in Salamrejo with total sampling technique. The instruments used are questionnaire of demography data, questionnaire of management stress, aneroid sphygmomanometer and stethoscope. This study is held on May until June. Results: The result of Spearman test showed majority stress management behavior of respondents are good enough (60,8%), systolic blood pressure are uncontrolled (54,9%) with ρ-value = 0,498 and diastolic blood pressure also uncontrolled (52,9%) with ρ-value = 0,821. Conclusion: This study shows there is no correlation stress management behavior toward blood pressure of housewife that suffers hypertension in Salamrejo. Suggestion: Researcher suggests to the next study to including independent variable that influence blood pressure, such as diet and obedience of taking medicine
