the Smoking Behaviour is one of the dangers that threaten children, adolescents and women of Indonesia. Indonesia ranks fifth highest cigarette consumption level in the world. A person's desire to stop smoking arising due to a person's knowledge against the dangers of smoking are accompanied by a strong desire and motivation to carry it out. Over time, the electronic media it's possible as the media in providing the motivation, one of which is by using video. Purpose: the purpose of this research is to know the influence of health education with audiovisual media against motivation to stop smoking in students of mechanical engineering University of muhammadiyah yogyakarta force 2015. Research methods: this research is a research Experimental pretest-posttest Quasy with control group design. The sampling technique used is a probability sampling method with simple random sampling. The number of population in this study as many as 107 populations, from the population taken 107 25 or 26% of the respondents as the sample of the study. 26 as the 26th and intervention group as a control group. Results of research: analysis of the results of statistical tests using Wilcoxon test on intervention group obtained p value = 0.001 value (p < 0.05) with the average highest motivation motivational measurement on post-test after the given audio visual media, whereas in the control group p = 0.007 values obtained with the highest average on measurements of motivational post-test after being given a leaflet. Conclusion: there is an influence of the granting of health education with audiovisual media against motivation to stop smoking in students of mechanical engineering University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta force 2015 with a higher level of motivation. In the control group who were given a leaflet there are influences of motivation to stop smoking.
