      Abstract
      Year by year, the radio was growth faster. It was resulted a high level competition among radios in Yogyakarta. Moreover, the competition that created by radios for teen, have the same goals. Since it was established, JIZ FM has decided to compete with other radios for teen in Jogjakarta. JIZ FM wants to meet the needs in accordance with the desire of teen people. JIZ FM is a radio for teen that has strong and rely positioning for their identity, and making the music as the main the main focus for JIZ FM. The researcher want to describe the role of Program Director in maintain the positioning of JIZ FM. Program Director is an important people in JIZ FM in controlling what will be provided and broadcasted in JIZ FM. By relying the target age of 14-24 years where in that ages, many teenagers are studying in Yogyakarta. JIZ FM has the positioning on a phrase “Best Indonesian Music” and boosted with the tagline “Best Music Pilihanmu”. In applying of their positioning, JIZ FM uses music and program which drafted with Fun, Young and Local. The music that provided from any Top Teen genres are requiring of carefulness in selecting the music, because not all the music can be played in JIZ FM playlist. In the event program of JIZ FM, Program Director must be capable and able to enter into the positioning elements of the program and able to align the programs with music listeners of JIZ FM. Program Director must not be unaware to what the needs of JIZ FM listeners and should monitories every single broadcasting of JIZ FM, while monitories other teen radio competitors. All these things were done constantly to monitories their positioning, whether it was appropriated for the application and can be used for evaluation, then Program Director should always innovate in all aspects
