      Abstract
      Electrical energy is one of the basic needs of people in their activities, it used for household needs and industrial purposes. The process of distribution of electrical energy from the power plant to the consumer must be kept reliable. Distribution network of Rayon Bantul is one of the sub-service and network of APJ Yogyakarta. The power source of distribution Rayon Bantul taken from transmission network 150 kV Pedan sub-system through Bantul substation. The location of the power plant away from the load causes high values of drop voltage on some buses, it also causes large amount of power losses in the system. This prompted needs for solution to these problem. An alternative solution is the installation of Distributed Generation/DG on the distribution network. This study aims to determine the effect arising from the installation of DG on the characteristics of Rayon Bantul distribution system. The data required is technical distribution system and the potential of renewable energy plants based on the provision plan of electric power (RUPTL) obtained from PT PLN (Persero). The data are then simulated using software ETAP Power Station 7.0.0. The result of the simulation after the installation of DG on the distribution network produces a decrease in the value of the voltage drop on the feeder 7th of 3.50%, in addition to the active power loss also decreased by 43.46% and reactive power loss of 17.92%. While in feeder 11th decreased voltage drops value of 1.61% and decrease in active power loss of 18.84% and reactive power loss of 7.08%.
