      Abstract
      Theft crime is deviant behavior by taking a product wholly or partially belongs to another person with the intention of having the goods. The criminal act of theft is divided into several types, namely the crime of theft with violence, theft by weighting, ordinary theft and motor vehicle theft. Special Region of Yogyakarta is a region with relatively high crime rate, especially in the case of a crime of theft. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of socio-economics is the level of education, unemployment and the Gini ratio to the level of the crime of theft in Yogyakarta period 2010-2015. The data used in this research is secondary data in the form of panel data that is retrieved by regencies/cities throughout the DIY area. Methods of data analysis which used in this study is panel data analysis model with fixed effect model (FEM). The results of the panel data model analysis showed that the independent variables unemployment rate is not significantly and negatively. While the variable education rate and gini ratio are both negative and significant effect on the theft rate in the Special Region of Yogyakarta period 2010-2015.
