ANALISIS FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG MEMPENGARUHI PERMINTAAN IMPOR DI INDONESIA PERIODE 1985-2014
Abstract
This research aimed to analyze the factors influencing Indonesia’s import. The dependent variable was import while the independent variables were Rupiah currency, Gross Domestic Product (GDP), and inflation. The data used in this research was yearly data during 1985-2014 collected from Central Bureau of Statistic and Bank of Indonesia. The estimation tool used in this research was Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) using Eviews 7.2.
The estimation result showed that within short term, Rupiah currency, Gross Domestic Product (GDP), and inflation did not influence the import. Meanwhile, import influenced Rupiah currency and inflation. In long term, the estimation result shows that Rupiah currency and inflation significantly influenced the import. Gross Domestic Product, in the other hand, did not significantly influence long term import. The estimation result obtained from VECM in this research also showed a crucial analysis that were Impulse Response Function (IRF) and Variance Decomposition (VDC).
