PERBEDAAN KEKUATAN GESER BAHAN PEREKAT BRAKET RESIN KOMPOSIT ORTODONSI DAN RESIN KOMPOSIT RESTORASI FLOWABLE
Abstract
The fixed orthodontic appliance consists of archwires, auxiliaries and brackets affixed to the surface of the tooth. The failure of the brackets becomes one of the problems that can delay orthodontic treatment, to solve the problem it can be used a strong bracket adhesive material. Composite resin is a frequently used for bracket adhesive material. Flowable composite resins has an advantage in clinical applications such as nonstickness and fluid injectability. The strength of the orthodontic bracket adhesive can be measured using a shear bond strength test. The aim of this study was to investigate the comparison of shear bond strength of the orthodontic composite bracket resin bracket and the flowable restoration composite resin applied to the Roth bracket. The sample of the study was used 8 premolars permanent post extraction. Sample is divided into 2 groups. Each etching acid treathment groups was given, then the groups treath adhesive bracket. The first group was applied orthodontic composite resin (Orthocem) and was light cured for 40 seconds. Second group was applied to the bonding material and light cured for 20 seconds, then applied a flowable composite resin (Filtek Z350) and light cured for 40 seconds. Shear bond strength test was used to know strength of bracket adhesive to the teeth. The instrument used to know the shear bond strength test was the universal testing machine. analyze result by independent sample t-test showed value (p> 0,05), so that there were no significant difference between the strength orthodontic composite resin and flowable composite resin.
