dc.description.abstractExtracurricular conversation activities implemented at SMPN 1 Bansari to increase sudents speaking ability. There are two aims of this research namely: To find out the students 'perceptions about extracurricular conversation activities implemented at SMP Negeri 1 Bansari, and to find out the students' perceptions of the impact of joining extracurricular conversation activities with their speaking ability. The research used qualitative research and data method employed interview to respondens using tape recorder, and researcher asked some questions to participant. Respondents from this research were students of class VIII SMP Negri 1 Bansari. The first finding of this research revealed that the student perception about extracurricular conversation activity SMP Negri 1 Bansar is fun, Extracurricular program used entertaining methods, and they were productive and effective. The second finding revealed that according to students’ perception, joining the extracurricular activities provide language skill practices, Improve speaking skills, Increase lesson understanding, Increasing Self-confidence.en_US
