IDENTIFIKASI PENGGUNAAN OBAT OFF-LABEL INDIKASI PADA PASIEN DI POLIKLINIK ANAK RUMAH SAKIT PKU MUHAMMADIYAH BANTUL PERIODE JANUARI – OKTOBER 2016
Abstract
Off-label drugs are drugs that are used not in accordance with official
drug information and do not have permission to use outside the provisions given.
As for drugs that are categorized off-label if the drugs used not in accordance
with the indication listed on the leaflet. There are many reports related with
incidences of off-label drug use in children. This study aims to determine the
prevalence of off-label drug use in pediatrics departemen of RS PKU
Muhammadiyah Bantul.
This research used descriptive observational design with cross-sectional
method. Off-label prescription drug data collection is done retrospectively. The
sampling technique used is Simple Random Sampling from January to October
2016. Samples are then analyzed based on the list of drugs listed in the National
Drug Information Center (PIO Nas) classified under Anatomical Therapeutical
Chemical (ATC).
Based on this study obtained a total sample of 403 receipt of patients with
1,085 types of drugs. From the analysis, there were 4 drugs prescription (0.37%)
consisting of three types of drugs included in the off-label drug indication:
valproic acid (2 presscription), chloralhydrate (1 prescription) and ondansetron
(1 prescription).
