POTENSI PAKAN TERNAK SAPI DARI LIMBAH PERTANIAN DI KECAMATAN SANDEN KABUPATEN BANTUL
Abstract
Utilization agricultural waste as animal feed in Sanden District, Bantul Regency still not optimal, it needs to analyze the potential of the waste in that area to help policy maker utilizing the waste in the proper way. This research aimed to analyze the potency of agricultural waste in Sanden District as beef cattle feed both quantitative and qualitatively (nutrient content). This research conducted using survey methods to obtain primary and secondary data. Primary data were obtained by observation while secondary data from central statistics and hall counseling agricultural and livestock Sanden District then given quantitatively and were analyzed descriptively. The result showed that Sanden District could produced 4.406,54 tonnes DM/ year agricultural waste from 2.319,5 Ha harvest area which is obtained from five main commodities like rice, corn, soybean, peanut, and cassava tree. This amount can support of 1.985 cows. Dry matter carrying capacity, crude protein, and total digestible nutrient from agricultural waste were 1.985,46; 1.172,70; 1.107,74, respectively. Feed concentration index in the area was medium (Gadingharjo and Murtigading village) and high (Gadingsari and Srigading village). From the study, it can be concluded that Sanden District has a high potency of agricultural waste that can be used as animal feed (beef cattle feed), with average waste production was 4.406,54 tonnes DM/ year from harvesting area of 2.319,5 ha. While density area is classified as a very high class with score of 76,27.
