PENGARUH VARIASI SUDUT KONDENSOR (0°, 15°, DAN 30°) TERHADAP HASIL PIROLISIS LIMBAH PLASTIK ALUMINIUM FOIL DENGAN DEBIT AIR PENDINGIN 12 LPM
Abstract
The increasing number of motor vehicles causes the consumption of stored
energy to thinned. Increased energy consumption is followed by the emergence of
problems that are not less important that the problem of plastic waste. Plastics are
widely used in various daily necessities such as for food and beverage wrappers.
The increasing use of plastic results in the buildup of plastic waste that can cause
environmental pollution due to the nature of the plastic that is not easy to
decompose. Therefore, this study aims to process plastic waste into fuel oil through
pyrolysis process and to know the characteristics of pyrolysis oil waste plastic waste
to be compared with fuel oil in the market.
This research was conducted using aluminum foil plastic waste material or
can be called plastic packaging of food/beverage (sachet) with total 3 kg. Each
experiment uses 1 kg of aluminum foil plastic that has been cut with a size of 8 cm
x 8 cm. The study was conducted at a temperature of 300°-350°C and using 12 LPM
cooling water flow. Variations of condenser angle to reactor angle are 0°, 15°, and
30°, and heating using gas stove. The pyrolysis process is carried out for 100
minutes.
The results showed that the highest oil production was obtained at
experiment with an angle of 15° that produces 242 ml oil and 596,21 Watt heat
transfer. While the experiment with an angle of 30° produces 220 ml of oil and
508,44 Watt heat transfer. And experiments with 0° angle produce 208 ml oil and
heat transfer 342,09 Watt. Characteristics of aluminum foil plastic waste oil
pyrolysis results obtained viscosity value of 4,4-6,07 mPa.s, density value of 0,803
gr/ml, flash point value of 35-37°C and calorific value of 9691,6888 Cal /gr.
