This research aimed at (1) learning the types of violence against children in Muslim families toward children’s emotional quotient at Kampung (village) Mulyorejo RT 62 RW 16 Kelurahan (Sub-District) Surosutan, Kecamatan (District) Umbulharjo, Yogyakarta, (2) learning the impact of violence against children in Muslim families toward children’s emotional quotient at Kampung Mulyorejo RT 62 RW 16 Kelurahan Surosutan, Kecamatan Umbulharjo, Yogyakarta. The type of the research was descriptive with qualitative approach or method. The data collecting techniques were (1) observation;, (2) interview; (3) documentation. The data analysis technique used data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion making or verification. The result of the research indicated that: (1) the types of violence committed by the informants were only 3 out of 4 types of violence, namely physical violence against children, such as hitting, pinching, and kicking, verbal violence such as yelling at children, forcing and psychological violence such as arguing in the presence of children.
