PENGARUH KOMPOSISI MINYAK TERHADAP SIFAT FISIK CAMPURAN MINYAK JARAK DAN MINYAK NYAMPLUNG PADA SUHU 160°C
Abstract
Nowadays, it has been developed a substitute for oil fossil fuel, for example is biodiesel. It has plants material (biofuel) which can be renewable. Biodiesel have weaknesses are 20 time more water contamination range and it could cause corrosion. The purpose of this study is to find the influence of composition toward the physical character of a mixture of calophyllum inophyllum oil and castor oil. thus, it obtain information variety about pure oil so itcan be used as fuel.
The research was conducted in mixing pure oil between petroleum calophyllum inophyllum oil and castor oil. The variation in mixing calophyllum inophyllum oil and castor oil which was used in the research were 100%-0%, 90%-10%, 80%-20%, 70%-30%, 60%-40%, 40%-60%, 30%-70%, 20%-80%, 10%-90% and 0%-100%, with temperature 160°C for 30 minutes, there are 3 time variation for 50%-50% which were 30 minutes, 60 minutes and 90 minutes.
Based on the research about the character of physical and chemical obtained the results of the density of value, viscosity, and flash point in a mixture of calophyllum inophyllum oil and castor oil shows the increasing caused by the number of the percentage castor oil on a mixture of sample, but in value heat engine reflects the opposite declining to the number of the percentage castor oil on a mixture of sample. A fatty acid that dominate calophyllum inophyllum oil is oleic acid 36,59% and castor oil is linoleic acid 41,59%.
