PENGARUH VARIASI SUDUT KONDENSOR (0⁰, 15⁰, DAN 30⁰) TERHADAP HASIL PIROLISIS LIMBAH BAN LUAR SEPEDA MOTOR DENGAN DEBIT AIR PENDINGIN 12 LPM
Abstract
The growth of the automotive industry in Indonesia recent years especially motorcycle vehicles has continued to grow rapidly, causing an increase in the amount of waste used tires. Used tires are a problem because they are solid waste that can not be easily recycled. In addition, fossil fuels also become a serious problem because with the passage of time the depletion of petroleum reserves generated. The solution to solve the problem is by utilizing tire waste as the main material by using pyrolysis method. By doing this research aims to treat tire waste into liquid smoke (tire oil) and to know characteristics oil from pyrolysis tire waste to be compared with fuel oil (BBM) in the market.
The main material used in this research is waste of exhaust tires outside motorcycle as much as 3 kg which has been cut into pieces with dimensions of 15 × 5 cm. At each test of materials used as much as 1 kg of tire waste with a heating temperature of 300-350 °C derived from the stove with fuel gas LPG 3 kg. The variation of the test was performed on the condenser with the angle of used condenser 0°, 15°, and 30° with the cooling water flow of 12 LPM and the required heating time is 100 min in each test.
The results showed that the highest oil was produced at a 30° angle of 341 ml with a residual ash weight of 440 grams. Then an angle of 15° produces 334 ml of oil with a weight of 452 gr ash, and an angle of 0° produces 312 ml of oil with ash as much as 485 gr. Furthermore, the highest heat transfer is obtained at 30⁰ angle of 305,63 Watt, 15° angle of 199,21 Watt, and 0° angle of 124,72 Watt. Characteristics of pyrolysis oil obtained density value of 0,901 gr/ml, viscosity value of 5,07-5,57 mPa.s, calorific value of 10032,41 Cal /g, and flash point of 58-60 °C.
